Child safety
Theoretically speaking children or teenagers should be safer going to the local shop to get a few items of shopping as the area is local and familiar. On the contrary you would initially think that surfing the internet from the comfort and safety of your own home would be safe enough but what is more dangerous? In my opinion both are very dangerous; with the status quo of violence,vandalism,anti-social behaviour, binge drinking, gangs and other things going on in your local neighbourhood i wouldn't say that's very safe! I wouldn't send my child to the shop just to be assaulted by thugs or offered illegal drugs! Of course, there is still the argument of the internet because you're inviting into your home the dangers of the unknown eg: internet pornography, people being economic with the truth about themselves, internet stalking, fraud, hacking, misleading unwary people into a false sense of security by lying about their age, appearance, interests, hobbies etc. I have concluded that life in present time has never been more dangerous due to the social degradation of the social structure.

Good well presented argument with a balanced view of the subject. Sadly the conclusion is correct in that one cannot be safer than the other, as both are inherently dangerous.
